
At St. Robert's, girls and boys serve at the Altar of the Lord during the
weekend Liturgies and at Weddings. This ministry is open to youth
once they have received First Communion and have entered the fourth grade.
Servers assist the priest as he celebrates Mass. Any youngster
wishing to become an altar server should contact the Parish Office.(2325600).

This ministry serves the spiritual needs of the Cherry Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located at 2 Cherry Hill Road in Johnston. Every Sunday, a Communion Service is provided by the parish deacon and a group of dedicated lay ministers. After the service, Communion is brought to those residents unable to attend the service in the manor's gathering room. Anyone interested in assisting in this ministry should contact Deacon Joe Tumminelli or the Parish Office.

The parish maintains a Food Closet for members of the local community. The closet is open on Thursday from 10 AM to 12 noon. Those seeking assistance should call (401) 2314987 and leave information and requests for food assistance.
Workers for this ministry are always needed. In addition to the weekly distribution of food, holiday baskets are made and distributed at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Donations to the food closet can be made by bringing nonperishable items to the church during the week or at weekend Mass. Financial donations can be mailed to the Parish Office or deposited in the collection basket at weekend Mass. Back to top.
The Ministers of Holy Communion number approximately 43 men and women who serve
at the weekend Masses and on Holy Days. Occasionally Holy Communion is offered
in both forms. These men and women have committed themselves to minister
the Eucharist to their sisters and brothers in the worship assembly.

men and women of St. Robert Bellarmine who "stand up to do the
reading" share in the work of Christ's church by proclaiming God's
Word during the Liturgy. Just as Christ stood up to read God's Word so do they.
Jesus is truly present in His Word as He carries out the mystery of salvation. His
Word sanctifies us. Moreover, the Word of God unceasingly calls to mind
God's Love for us liturgy.

Parishioners may assist at the weekend Masses in the capacity of Adult Altar Servers and Eucharistic Ministers. These individuals assist the priest in preparing the gifts during Mass, in the distribution of communion and in other ceremonial duties. They may also be called on occasionally to serve at Funeral Masses or Seasonal Liturgical Gatherings. Any adult wishing to become a Senior Server or to help serve Funeral Masses during the week should contact the Parish Office.

Music is an integral part of the liturgies of our parish. Mr. Thomas Roy is the Director of Music at St. Robert's and coordinates the music for weekly liturgies, holy days, funerals, and weddings. Mr. Roy also directs an adult choir which rehearses weekly and sings at the 10:00 AM Mass on Sundays from September to midJune and at various holy day events. During the Christmas and Easter Season, a children's choir is also active. Back to top.
This group oversees the "Life" of the Parish. They assist the Pastor in the everyday workings of parish life. It is comprised of the chairpersons of the Finance Committee, the council which oversees various projects, yearly expenses and parish income and investments; the Liturgical Committee, planners for special liturgies and for maintaining a spiritual and prayerful atmosphere in our church; the Building and Grounds Committee, volunteers with expertise in the maintenance and construction trades. They inspect, advise and recommend courses of action to keep our building and grounds in good condition; the Peace and Justice Committee, the umbrella organization for all our parish outreach work; the Music Ministry and the youth and adult Religious Formation groups. A committee that serves as a connection with the Diocesan Pro-Life Office and functions as an awareness committee within the parish. They conduct flower sales during the year to benefit the Little Flower House home. Back to top.
Each Mass on the weekend has volunteers who greet our parish family as they enter the church. They help to find seating for all attendees of the liturgy, provide a collection for budget and special Diocesan donations, and assist parish members in presenting the gifts of bread and wine at the offertory. This ministry was reestablished in our parish in 2000 by an enthusiastic young couple who now serve as its coordinators. The group meets monthly for social events and spiritual formation.
