PASTOR’S COMMENTS

Is Drinking Causing You Problems?

How can you tell if you are engaging in problem alcohol use?

For help in determining if your drinking is not in control, Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) offers a list of questions, available from your local chapter or on the AA Web site (www.alcoholics-anonymous.org/).  If you answer yes to four or more of the questions, AA suggests you seek help.  The questions include:

§         Have you ever decided to stop drinking for a week or so, but could only hold out for a couple of days?

§         Do you wish people would mind their own business about your drinking – stop telling you what to do?

§         Have you ever missed days of school or work because of excess drinking?

§         Have you every switched from one kind of drink to another in the hope that this would keep you from getting drunk?

§         Have you ever had an “eye-opener” upon awakening during the past year?

§         Do you envy people who can drink without getting into trouble?

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) emphasizes that only the alcoholic can seek help for him or herself.  While family members may encourage the problem drinker to stop, true healing comes only when the alcoholic decides to take the first step.

Come Pray the Rosary

Have you ever wanted to pray and experience the life of Christ in a new way?  Come and join us every Sunday morning after the 8:00 AM Mass for the Rosary.  This beautiful prayer can lead us closer to Christ as we meditate on His life. We will contemplate the mysteries of His life along side His mother Mary who experienced these things first hand.

ST. ROBERT’S ADULT FORMATION CLASSES

FAITH IS A LIFELONG JOURNEY

The Journey:  For some it is a sense of wanting more, not knowing exactly what the “more” is…Many look to the Church as they prepare for marriage.  For others, it evolves as family grows, with babies being baptized, children receiving the sacraments… The journey itself is one of intellectual, emotional and spiritual conversion that is supported by our Adult Formation.

Kathy Kelly is the instructor for the Adult Classes.

She may be contacted at 401-942-0004 or by e-mail at

kellykmo@verizon.net

Classes will meet on Thursday evenings from

7:00 – 8:30 PM starting in the Fall and will conclude at the Easter Vigil in the Spring.
